Milling and Paving of N. Trade Street is now underway. The work will be done at night to minimize impacts on traffic. Over 10,000 vehicles use N. Trade Street daily.

Courtney Pruitt and Travis Ernsberger have completed the Fire Academy at Cleveland Community College where they earned Firefighter I and II certification. The academy involved residing at area fire stations for two months of extensive training. Pruitt and Ernsberger are volunteer firefighters with the Town of Matthews Fire & EMS Department.
April 1 Update - Paving of Trade Street, which will occur during the night, will occur the week of 4/11. Concrete work is nearly complete.
Matthews Mint Hill Rd- first level of paving will be finished today. No work this weekend and second level will be done next week. This should take three days.

The Town of Matthews Fire & EMS Department has donated approximately 30 self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) to the Port-au-Prince Rotary Club of Haiti. The equipment is used by firefighters to breathe during hazardous situations.
