The Town of Matthews will host cyclists participating in the 14th Annual Cycle North Carolina Event on Day 3 of the six day event. 1,200 cyclists are expected to participate in the event which traverses over 400 miles across the state from the mountains and beaches.

The event begins September 30 with cyclists leaving Brevard, NC and cycling to Lake Lure. Day 2’s leg is from Lake Lure to Shelby and Day 3, October 2, is Shelby to Matthews. The cyclists will then make their way to Carolina Beach by October 8.

The cyclists will travel into Matthews on Monroe Road/John Street to S. Trade Street where they will camp overnight on the ACTS property.  They will enjoy a movie at Stumptown Park tonight, eat dinner in Matthews' restaurants and leave early in the morning to travel to their next stop.
