The Matthews Chamber of Commerce is an ambitious group of business and community leaders whose goal is to promote, represent and support the civic, economic and educational development of the Matthews Area.
Founded in 1980, the Chamber began with a mere handful of members. Growing steadily over the years, its membership is now over 450 businesses with more growth every day. Being a Chamber member is about building and promoting businesses and dreams. The Chamber sponsors many different venues for networking and growing businesses that are involved. We offer monthly luncheons, Business After Hours, Business Before Hours, Seminars, Sales Club, Marketing Forum, a Business Trade Show open to the public and many events and programs that create opportunities to network and exchange ideas beneficial to promoting business growth.
The Town of Matthews is one of the state's most affluent and desirable communities. It has been ranked in the top 20 according to Business North Carolina in the listing of the Best Cities for Business and in the top 10 for having the Best Work Force. The Matthews Chamber of Commerce website at www.matthewschamber.com
allows members and interested parties access to the Chamber information at any time and to be able to make inquiries, RSVP to events and luncheons, and obtain the most current Chamber Business News.
Promoting the town's many special events has also become an integral part of the Chamber's work, hosting the Matthews Auto & Motorcycle Classic, a classic and antique car show on Labor Day as well as ArtFest, a juried Fine Arts and Master Craft show held the last weekend in September each year. Other events in the Town are hosted by a variety of non-profit organizations, the business community and the Town of Matthews. These events include a Spring BeachFest, the Family July 4th Celebration, Matthews Alive!, Hometown Holiday Celebration and the Outdoor Concerts in Stumptown Park and Movies in the Park throughout the summer months.
The Matthews Chamber of Commerce has provided excellent service to the Greater Matthews area for more than thirty years and will continue to do so in the years to come. Whether you are a business person or a resident, you're invited to be active in the growth of Matthews.
