Station 1 - 236 Trade St. - (704)847-9400
Station 1 serves as the headquarters for the department. In addition to living quarters for up to 11 firefighters, the station also has the administrative offices, a fitness room and a training/community room.
Ladder 124 is a 2010 Rosenbauer equipped with 101 ft. ladder/platform, 2000 GPM pump, 500 gallon tank, 500 ft. of LDH, 135 ft. of ground ladders, 1200 ft. of attack line, Hurst Centaur combination tool and rope rescue equipment. Ladder 124 has seating for 7 firefighters.
Rescue 128 is a 1999 American LaFrance/Hackney with on-board generator, air compressor and 6 bank cascade plus fill station, and lighting. Along with numerous hand tools, this truck carries haz-mat equipment. Extrication tools include a full complement of Hurst High Pressure tools, Paratech struts, as well as low and high pressure air bags. Rescue 128 has seating for 6 firefighters.
Station 1 also houses Squad 129 (EMS QRV), Brush 126, Engine 121 (Reserve Engine), a Kawasaki Mule (for off road rescues and firefighting) and a Golf Cart modified for off-road patient transport.
Station 2 - 1201 Crews Rd. - (704)847-4468
Station 2 shares its home with two other town departments. The Matthews Police headquarters and the Crew Road Recreation Center are all under one roof with the fire station. The station houses up to 12 firefighters and has a day room/kitchen area, along with a few offices. The fitness room is shared with the police department.
Engine 221 is a 2007 Seagrave Marauder II equipped with 2000 gpm pump 720 gallon water tank, 1000 ft. of LDH, 1200 ft. of attack line, ground ladders and Hurst Centaur cutter, spreader and rams. Engine 221 has seating for 6 firefighters.
Engine 222 is a 1992 KME with a 1500 GPM pump, 1000 gal of water, 1000 feet of LDH, ground ladders and a Hurst Centaur combination tool. Engine 222 has seating for 4 firefighters.
Station 2 also houses Squad 229, an EMS QRV.
