Matthews 101

The Town of Matthews is seeking applicants for participation in the next session of Matthews 101, a seven week educational program for residents of Matthews to learn more about local government, the Town of Matthews, its staff, departments and services provided. Participants will get a hands-on learning experience through weekly sessions focused on a different department or area of town government, including Police, Fire and EMS, Parks and Recreation, Public Works and more. 

The 2017 session begins on Thursday, September 14 at 6:30 p.m. Sessions will be held on Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for seven weeks. Those interested in applying must be available to attend the sessions. Class size will be limited to 20 participants. Once completing Matthews 101, participants will be recognized at a Town Board of Commissioners meeting.

Residents interested in applying are asked to download the application and submit it to Maureen Keith at 
mkeith@matthewsnc.gov or by mail: 232 Matthews Station Street Matthews, NC 28105. Applications must be submitted by Monday, August 21. Participants will be notified of their acceptance by Monday, September 4.
