The Matthews Police Department is now accepting applications for the 2019 Citizen Police Academy Class.  This nine-week program will provide citizens with an insider’s look of over twenty different law enforcement related topics.  Citizens will have the opportunity to ask questions of the instructors, and guest speakers, as well as participate hands-on in certain topics.  All classes will be held at the Matthews Police Department every Thursday night from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm starting on January 10, 2019.  The only requirements are that you are 18 or older, live, work or attend school in the Matthews area, and pass a background check.
