August 21, 2019

On Sunday, August 18, 2019, at approximately 7:37 p.m., Matthews officers from the Patrol Division responded to the Salvation Army located at 11328 E. Independence Blvd. regarding a reported armed robbery that had just occurred.  During this investigation, the victim told officers that the pictured man and woman approached him after he pulled up to drop off donation items at the Salvation Army.  The male suspect reportedly brandished a knife as both suspects removed bags of tools from the back of the victim’s truck.  There were no injuries reported from this incident.  The unknown suspects are described as a:

Black male, approximately 5’10” tall, weighing 170 lbs. with short black hair;

White female, approximately 5’05” tall, with short blonde hair.

They were last seen in what is believed to be a grey over tan late 1990’s or early 2000’s Ford Windstar van with a temporary tag that has “Georgetown Auto” on it.
