Arrest - 20190927003 (Narcotics Trafficking)

On Friday, September 27, 2019, at approximately 12:48 p.m., Matthews officers from the Patrol Division responded to the 1500 block of Sam Newell Rd. to a report of an unconscious driver that was sitting at a stop sign.  Medic also responded to the scene and transported the man to Novant-Matthews.  During this investigation, it was discovered that the man had 10 lbs. of Marijuana, two handguns, and drug paraphernalia in his car.  He was identified as Mr. Daniel Pavlovich Girich (DOB – 02/16/1995) of Matthews.  After Mr. Girich was treated and released from the hospital, he was arrested and charged with the following:


Trafficking (Marijuana);

Felony Possession of Marijuana;

Maintain a Vehicle for the use, storage, or sale of controlled substances;

Possession with the Intent to Sell or Deliver;

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia;

Driving While License Revoked.
