The Matthews Police Department is pleased to announce that we will once again be hosting a K-9 training seminar sponsored by the National Police Bloodhound Association.  This training will take place from Sunday, October 20, 2019, through Thursday, October 24, 2019.  There will be over 40 K-9 handlers, and their bloodhounds from all over the country participating in this training.

This specialized training will cover different tracking scenarios in the Matthews and Charlotte area.  We are asking everyone to please keep in mind that you may see several officers and K-9's during these training days with different vehicle markings and uniforms than you are used to seeing.  Please be assured that there is no cause for alarm.  This training is important for all agencies involved so the continued development of these amazing K-9's as well as their human partners can keep our communities safe.
