Downtown Mobility Study

The  Downtown Matthews Mobility Study will evaluate the needs of people walking, biking, taking transit, driving, and parking in Downtown Matthews in order to develop a clear vision for the future of traveling to, from, and around downtown. The study will also evaluate how to better connect residential neighborhoods surrounding downtown.

The study kicked off  in May 2019 with a stakeholder meeting, and an analysis of existing conditions has begun. During this analysis period, there was an opportunity for public input. Citizens were asked to complete a brief survey and provide input through an online mapping tool.

In May 2019, residents were asked to complete a survey to gather input on how traveling to, from, and around Downtown Matthews. The survey is now closed.

Along with the survey, residents were asked to show us where they would like to see sidewalks, bike facilities, greenways and multi-use paths, transit routes, new roadway connections, parking improvements, or dropoff locations to help get into town more easily.
